The Robert Louis Stevenson Cottage Museum has no paid staff. Its management and day-to-day operations, from the work of tour guides and collections assistants to that of the curator and director, are entirely voluntary. These people donate their time, labor, and money because they value the Stevenson Cottage Museum and its mission specifically and believe in the important role of literature and history in our society more generally. The cottage museum exists today because of the contributions of volunteers, donors, and members, dating back to our founding in 1915.
