Help save Stevenson's Cottage
Despite its rich history as the world’s first dedicated Stevenson site and unmatched collection of artifacts, the Robert Louis Stevenson Cottage Museum urgently needs financial support to secure its future. It's been preserved by a single family of volunteer caretakers for three generations and more than 70 years. But the historic building urgently needs repairs.

The all-volunteer museum has raised $170,000 through donations and grants to start addressing emergency needs. We replaced the roof, but the cottage needs a full restoration: a $2 million project. Your donation can help us save one of the great literary sites in America.

"[Money is] a luxury in which we may either indulge or stint ourselves, like any other. And there are many luxuries that we may legitimately prefer to it, such as a grateful conscience. . . Year by year, it is [ours] to distribute . . . to further public works and institutions."
